If you're a musician and you don't have a logo, you NEED to get one TODAY!
Some of the most famous bands and artists ever wouldn't be what they are today without their logo, and I think it's worth paying a little more attention as to why some of the more distinct logos work so well.
Sometimes, I even think my logo could use some jazzing up when I look at some of the rather odd logos I see from Pink Floyd or the Rolling Stones in the 25 Greatest Logos Of All Time.
These images work well because of the uniqueness factor. When you make great music and add in a little flair as your logo, it sticks.
I'd advise keeping it away from becoming 'distasteful', but other than that, let the imagination roll!
It doesn't always have to be an image necessarily either. Having some cool looking font does the trick just fine as we see with Daft Punk and The Beatles as well.
If your logo looks good on merchandise it's going to spike sales!
I wouldn't just limit that to shirts either. Tote bags, hoodies, coffee mugs, whatever! Getting your brand out there is essential.
Don't focus all the energy on making sure your logo looks good on a crew neck. After all, you're a musician not a designer, but it is something to consider when picking one out.
If you're already a designer that's great!
But if you're not, I wouldn't try to have a make shift logo just to have it.
Logos are one of those things that's pretty dirt cheap, but it can help a tonnn with building your music brand.
As usual, I'll list some resources here that won't break the bank that you pick out today to get started on your logo!
